The cuisine onboard Royal Caribbean is just incredible and the choice endless. There’s a restaurant or café for everyone from stylish 5 course dinners to the good old burgers and chips.

Oasis Class

Royal Caribbean is to introduce a new class of ship for 2009. The new class will be the Oasis Class of ships.

The first ship in this fleet will be Oasis of the Seas and will overtake the Freedom Class of ships as the world’s largest cruise ship and passenger vessel when she is launched in autumn 2009. She will be able to accommodate a staggering 5,400 passengers.

Oasis of the Seas will be joined by her sister ship Allure of the Seas in August 2010 and cruises on the Oasis of the Seas are now available to purchase.

170 Worldwide Destinations

Freedom Class

Royal Caribbean’s Freedom Class of ship consists of three ships; Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas.

The Freedom Class offers fifteen decks filled with fantastic entertainment, a variety of accommodation and endless daytime activities.

With its very own H20 Zone the entire family with be sure of plenty of fun and enjoyment, with water cannons, water fountains, swimming pools and hot tubs there’s lots to keep the entertainment flowing.

Onboard you’ll find something for everyone with a rock-climbing wall, ice-skating rink and miniature golf course as well as plenty of shops to stock up on gifts and souvenirs.

Royal Caribbean Develop Falmouth

Royal Caribbean is working alongside the Jamaican Port Authority in a bid to develop the Falmouth cruise port in Jamaica so that Oasis of the Seas can visit the port when she starts her Western Caribbean cruises in May 2010.

This is not the first time that Royal Caribbean have worked with a port authority, they did so with Southampton where they spent £10m to upgrade their terminal to accommodate Independence of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean Formal Nights

Dressing up is not always needed on a Royal Caribbean cruise; typically there is just 2 formal nights on a seven night cruise; however you do not have to eat in the main dining room if dressing for diner is not on your agenda. Most Royal Caribbean ships have a plethora of dining places onboard and many dining options.

Independence or Independance

It is amazing how many people misspell Independence of the Seas, this is more so in the UK as many pronounce it Independance of the Seas and spell it that way. Could this be due to the fact that in the US people celebrate Independence Day while over her in the UK we do not?

Independence of the Seas is due back in Southampton in 2010 for her second season of UK based cruising.

Oasis of the Seas neighbourhoods

Oasis of the Seas will have 7 distinct neighbourhoods when she joins Royal Caribbean in the autumn of 2009. The Oasis of the Seas neighbourhoods includes the Boardwalk, Central Park, Royal Promenade and its mezzanine level and Loft Staterooms.

Well with 5,400 passengers you need somewhere to put them.

If eating in a restaurant in front of numerous people is not your thing why not dine in your stateroom? Royal Caribbean offers a complimentary room service 24 hours a day so a romantic balcony meal is never more than a cruise away!

There is a separate room service menu for your stateroom and depending on the time of day you can even use the menu from the main dining room.
