The Jewel of the Seas was completed for Royal Caribbean in the spring of 2004 and made her maiden voyage in May 2004. She is one four Radiance Class cruise ships weighing in at just over 90,000 gross tons. Serviced by a crew of 859, she is 962 feet (293m) long and can carry up to 2,501 passengers.
Her 15 decks play host to innovative amenities, fun-packed entertainment and luxury stateroom accommodation. There are five alternative dining venues and numerous bars as well as a theatre, cinema and a state of the art fitness centre incorporating a health and beauty spa.
Radiance Class ships have magnificent expansive glass exteriors and more open space and balconies than any other cruise liners. Like her sisters, Jewel of the Seas has a 9-deck Centrum which has wonderful views out to sea and is characterised by its domed ceilings and winding staircases. This is augmented by a wonderful collection of contemporary art and sculptures. Her spacious staterooms and the lavish furnishings on board add to the feel of luxuriousness.
In the Summer Jewel of the Sea will sail in Northern Europe undertaking a Scandinavia and Russia (Baltic Cruise) itinerary as well as visiting the British Isles and the Norwegian Fjords. During the winter months she will sail the Caribbean and the Panama Canal as well as making two transatlantic crossings.
If you are looking for something a little bit different then perhaps try the Scandinavia and Russia Cruise with Royal Caribbean Cruises. Sailing on Jewel of the Seas you will enjoy a 12 night cruise taking in the best Scandinavia has to offer. Jewel of the Seas will also stop at Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm,... Read more »
