The first in a series of six Vision class of cruise ship, Legend of the Seas was once considered to be a large cruise ship weighing in at 70,000 tons. She was also the largest Royal Caribbean Cruises ship to cruise form Southampton; until the introduction of Voyager of the Seas and subsequently Independence of the Seas.
In 2007 Legend of the Seas was moved from her summer home port of Southampton and now cruises out of Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. As with all Vision class of ships she has a copious amount of class enabling some of the best viewing in the world of cruising, hence the name Vision class!
She is sister ship to five others, like her Splendor of the Seas is about 70,000 tons however the newer versions grew in size with Enchantment of the Seas being some 10,000 tons larger. Other ships in the same class as Legend of the Seas are Grandeur of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas and Vision of the Seas.
If you want to experience the glass canopies, a typical exciting and innovate Royal Caribbean cruise, and a wonderful slightly older, though very modern cruise ship then Legend of the Seas may just hit the spot.
